Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician 2/3 to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for implementation of the quality system for SLS production by monitoring and recording results from processes and procedures within the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of mechanical and electrical inspections on flight hardware, including torquing of fasteners, safety wire, TPS application, Alodine, primer and topcoat application, hole measurements, tube and hose fabrication, cable harness connector crimping, soldering, and cable harness testing.
- Generate non-conformance reports for defective or malfunctioning units or systems as required.
- Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
- Perform analysis on finished products from manufacturing to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
- Perform a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatuses to ensure compliance.
- Review production records for conformance to procedures and conduct non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.
- Level 2:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years inspection experience or cumulative experience deemed equivalent. - Level 3:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years inspection experience or cumulative experience deemed equivalent. - Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Detail oriented.
- Shop floor planning experience preferred.
- Blueprint reading skills preferred.
- Associate’s degree or other 2‑year technical degree.
Primary level: $43,100 – $71,900. Secondary level: $51,200 – $85,400. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for long‑term incentives.
