JOB POSTING
JOB TITLE: Shipping and Receiving Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Shipping/Receiving
REPORTS TO: Shipping & Receiving Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to ship and receive product. This position is responsible for examining contents of containers and comparing with records such as pack slips/lists, manifests, invoices, sales and purchase orders, etc. to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment. Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems beneficial. Attention to detail is critical. Experience managing inventory with perfect accuracy. Minimum of one year previous experience preferable in a manufacturing environment. Forklift experience; valid driver's license.
DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
- Verify contents in comparison with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to ensure accuracy of an incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record-keeping purposes.
- Packs, seals, labels, and affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, Starship, computer and postage meter.
- Delivers or routes materials to departments, using a hand truck, pallet jack or forklift.
- Requisition s and stores shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
- Responsible for receiving in both RMA's (returned product from customers) as well as Optics serialized product.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory or management personnel.
