A leading specialist provider is seeking an experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to oversee their well-established 3‑bed SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) children’s home near Tiverton. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high‑performing service, with the autonomy to shape the team and culture, in a supportive environment that values work‑life balance and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the SEMH children’s home near Tiverton.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a dedicated team aligned with the home’s therapeutic ethos.
- Implement and maintain high standards of care, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations.
- Foster a positive, therapeutic environment that promotes the well‑being and development of children.
- Engage with local community activities and plan fun, outdoor adventures with the children.
- Manage budgets, resources, and administrative duties efficiently.
- Support and mentor staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proven experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager within an SEMH residential setting.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s Residential).
- Strong understanding of therapeutic approaches, including PACE‑style communication.
- Active involvement in the local community and experience planning engaging activity days.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for making a positive difference in children’s lives.
- Competitive salary of £52,000 for a 40‑hour week.
- 9‑Day Fortnight, providing an extra day off every other week, equating to 11.4 weeks of annual leave.
- Total annual leave of 57 days, including the 9‑Day Fortnight benefits.
- On‑call allowance of £40 for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts.
- Additional payments for sleep‑ins (to be discussed at interview).
