Position: Therapy Clinical Manager (Internal Only)

Role Summary

  • To provide highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients and their carers. The specialist area is Tiverton community in-patient unit and includes a wide range of acute, chronic and terminal care cases, many having highly complex disabilities and/or presentations.
  • Lead the clinical specialty providing leadership, development and governance in relation to the clinical area and supporting other clinicians regarding patient treatment and management.
  • Be part of an interdependent, multidisciplinary team ensuring that therapy input is integrated into the patient’s overall care plan.
  • Work with the manager to lead and develop the service in line with patient need and trust wide developments and to help provide an equitable service across the Trust.
About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic therapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Unit at Tiverton Hospital as a Band 7 Therapy Lead for a 12-month maternity cover period; as either a secondment or a fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking service committed to multidisciplinary team working, patient-centred rehabilitation, and supporting people to return home safely and independently following hospital admission.

Working closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager within an integrated multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical and operational leadership to the therapy service. You will lead and support the therapy team, manage a complex clinical caseload, and play a key role in the ongoing development of the service.

Through mentoring, coaching, supervision and teaching, you will support staff development and help foster a positive rehabilitation culture across the unit.

The successful candidate will have a specialist interest in community bed-based rehabilitation and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. They will be passionate about improving patient outcomes, promoting independence, and enabling timely, therapy-led discharge planning. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and make a meaningful contribution to the future of community rehabilitation services.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week
