Staff Accountant

First Four Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our client, a large industrial shipbuilding facility, to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role plays a key part in maintaining the company’s financial integrity, supporting month-end close, and assisting with compliance and reporting for an industrial operations environment.

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Assist with fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
• Support audits and provide documentation as requested
• Collaborate with operations and management teams to support financial decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience (industrial, manufacturing, or construction environment preferred)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or project-based accounting
• Exposure to job costing or inventory accounting
• Familiarity with ERP systems
