Grade 7 Teacher – Maaqtusiis Elementary School

Only 35 minutes by water taxi from Tofino, Maaqtusiis Elementary School serves the Ahousaht Nation on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We are a trauma-informed school empowering strong, proud and resilient children to rise above the effects of colonization, residential schools, cultural genocide and racism. We are committed to reflecting and supporting the revitalization of Ahousaht culture and language. With 15-20 students per classroom from kindergarten to Grade 7, class sizes allow for high-quality instruction.

• Salary based on Port Alberni-District #70 salary grid and experience in Canadian accredited schools.
• Low rent for 1-3 bedroom units that come semi-furnished.
• Moving allowance to relocate to Ahousaht, $1000
