Position SummaryAs an Accounting Associate, you will support the team by preparing and verifying monthly financial reports for our clients. Your keen eye for detail and accounting expertise will help maintain the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Review monthly financial statements for accuracy before distribution to clients.
- Process and enter accounts payable invoices as directed by the Property Management team.
- Verify that Assistant/Jr. Property Manager submissions comply with GAAP before approval by the Property Manager.
- Ensure utility payments are accurately recorded, reconciling vendor invoices with payments.
- Support facilities maintenance billing activities, including assigning correct bill rates to work orders.
- Create invoices for maintenance labor and reimbursements.
- Serve as a backup for the AP/AR Accounting Associate as needed.
- Update property activities on App Folio property pages.
- Process credit card transactions related to facilities maintenance and property management.
- Report any unusual purchases to the appropriate supervisor.
- Verify maintenance hours align with recorded work orders in the software platform.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and company goals.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software and accounts payable entry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and able to handle competing deadlines effectively.
