Job OverviewThe University of Toledo is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to promote UToledo Health through social media. The role produces digital content, engages in social media conversations to support patient acquisition, retention, education, reputation management, brand awareness and affinity. Strong marketing writing and video production skills are required.
Responsibilities- Produce high‑quality digital content for UToledo Health, including video and audio.
- Script, plan, record, edit and post digital video and audio.
- Assist with the organic social media strategy for the University and UToledo Health, including UTM medical center and affiliated clinics.
- Create written content, podcasts, websites, email and other marketing materials.
- Respond professionally to social media inquiries and emergencies, escalating to University leaders when necessary.
- Provide guidance to UToledo officials on best practices for social media engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, video production or digital communications.
- Proficiency with video and audio equipment, lighting and related creative software (Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Audition); location and studio lighting experience preferred.
- Experience communicating complex scientific or medical subjects to lay audiences.
- Strong writing skills for scripts, news stories, tweets and headlines.
- At least two (2) years of experience in video production.
- Portfolio of video production experience.
Open, professional office environment with possible high stress levels. Comfortable with lifting recording equipment and standing for long periods. Regular travel within and between University campuses.
