President, Education ​/ Teaching

Mercy College of Ohio invites applications for the position of President. The role is a senior executive leadership position responsible for the overall strategic direction, governance, academic quality, financial stewardship, and community partnership of the college.

• Articulate a strategic vision and long‑term goals in partnership with St. Vincent Medical Center, Bon Secours Mercy Health, and college leadership.
• Assess the healthcare workforce landscape and emerging trends to support institutional workforce planning.
• Enhance academic programs through curriculum review/assessment and development of learning communities.
• Implement efficient operations and oversee policy development consistent with mission and core values.
• Lead a diverse team of senior leaders, fostering a high‑performing culture through coaching and support.
• Serve as the institutional voice internally and externally, liaising with community stakeholders and responding to nursing and health sciences educational needs.
• Promote partnerships and identify synergies with other BSMH educational institutions and external communities.
• Maintain effective communication with the Board of Trustees, faculty, students, and college personnel.
• Advises the Board on institutional purpose, values, programs, management, and finance.
• Secure external endowments and funding, cultivating relationships with donors, alumni, and key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership on planning, budgeting, financial management, and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and implement effective financial strategies to support college needs.
• Utilize data‑driven decision making for resource allocation, policy development, and evidence‑based solutions.
• Lead the integration of information technology into college operations.
• Remain current with changing trends in education, professional practice, legal affairs, and healthcare.
• Facilitate communication and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful organizational change.

• Doctoral‑level degree (PhD, EdD, DNP, etc.).
• 5+ years experience in higher education progressive leadership roles, preferably in nursing and health sciences settings.
• 10+ years in a multi‑site higher education campus environment (preferred).
• Thorough knowledge of state authorizing bodies and accrediting institutions.
• Significant academic and administrative experience, facilitating communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and clear communication across campus, system, and community constituencies.
• Self‑confidence, collaborative leadership style, delegated accountability, and responsibility for college work.
• Personal character qualities, high ethical, moral, and professional values.
• Collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alumni, understanding changing student and higher education demographics.
