Regional School Counselor

SUMMARY

The School Counselor works with all members of the school community—including students, instructional staff, and administration—to deliver programs that support students’ academic careers and personal development. The role provides guidance and counseling aligned with the academic program, including the Moral Focus curriculum, at the following schools:
Bennett Venture Academy – Toledo, OH;
Winterfield Venture Academy – Toledo, OH.

• Provide group and individual counseling sessions and classroom support to general education and special education students, monitoring their responses to interventions.
• Deliver crisis response and intervention services to students, families, and staff when needed.
• Act in a consultative role with designated personnel to offer prevention and intervention strategies for students’ learning and behavioral problems, providing ongoing consultation to teachers, parents, and other school personnel.
• Identify community resources for students and make appropriate referrals to support educational and behavioral interventions recommended for student success.
• Establish relationships with students and parents and participate in all aspects of school planning, including supporting students in identifying target high schools and completing applications.

• Must possess a Master’s Degree and meet state/federal credentialing requirements.
