* Job Description:
** Teaching faculty at Owens Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationship with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. The applicant will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
This position requires teaching undergraduates, and applicants must provide evidence of teaching potential specifically in the discipline of John Deere.

* Essential Functions:

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Candidates should knowledge of vehicle electronics, fluid power, mechanics, diesel engine repair, service concepts, refrigeration, as they pertain to the agricultural industry.
* Must be capable of teaching and mentoring individuals according to the standards defined by the John Deere Technology program and as administered through Owens State Community college. Skills include but are not limited to maintenance and repair of agricultural and medium duty equipment used in the agricultural environment including but not limited to tractors, combines, and their associated implements.
* Ability to organize facts and materials for presentations, capability to make quick decisions under pressure, ability to manage several projects at once, ability to mentor and objectively analyze the student and their experiences both in the classroom and in the lab. Ability to keep control of the class and direct them. Ability to remain focused on tasks and keep a neat orderly environment.
Ability to keep up to date on new technologies and certifications per the requirements of the colleges stakeholders.
* Individual must be able to work within a team environment yet be capable of taking control of his/her own classroom situation. Must be professional, honest, motivated and desire to promote the college mission and vision. Moreover, the individual must have the student's best interest in mind when making decisions about the class and the individual. Foremost the individual must be committed to the program and its success.

* Minimum Requirements:
*** Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
* The successful candidate will have experiencing working in or with John Deere in the service environment and be certified in the core areas or capable of achieving core certification through John Deere's certification process. Candidate will possess experience with AMS, electrical, mechanical, fluid power, refrigeration, and diesel engine repair - preferably from the agricultural industry - 5 years minimum.
