• Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
• Provides instruction in business office systems specialist and individual assistance
• Assesses educational needs of inmates
• Develops lesson plans to address those needs, including individual assignments and training
• Provides instruction and individual assistance
• Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
• Maintains discipline and/or security
• Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
• Attends meetings as required
• Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
• Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
• Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials
• Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for basic business, bookkeeping or comprehensive business & grade level to be assigned
• Teacher 1, 71731, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less
