Helicopters play a pivotal role in our missions. As a Helicopter/Tiltrotor Aircraft Maintenance specialist, you’ll perform preventive maintenance on helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, conduct operational rotor checks, and work on landing, transmission, and testing for electrical and hydraulic systems to ensure readiness for mission needs.
Primary Responsibilities- Maintain and repair helicopter systems, including rotors, transmissions, landing gear, fuel, hydraulics, and electrical.
- Facilitate launch and recovery, helicopter disassembly/reassembly, and other aspects of movement and storage operations.
- Adjust, calibrate, and align aircraft systems.
- Prepare aircraft for movement to and from different locations.
- HS diploma (high school completion is mandatory; related vocational courses are highly desirable).
- ASVAB Mechanical score of 56 for the H-60 Helicopter or 51 for the CV-22 Tiltrotor.
- Eligibility for top-secret security clearance.
- 8.5 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at JB San Antonio-Lackland, TX, followed by Technical Training.
