Mechanical Project Engineer

Overview

McGraw Kokosing is a leading MEP and industrial maintenance contractor based in Middletown, OH. We provide off-site manufacturing and assembly, pipe fabrication and installation, electrical and instrumentation, structural steel erection, rigging, and equipment setting. We serve diverse industries including steel, power, oil and gas, data center, and food and beverage, and offer services such as planned plant outages, emergency maintenance, and capital improvement projects for new and existing facilities.

Our preconstruction services include risk assessments, budget validation, and 3D modeling to meet and exceed client expectations.

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including planning procurement, design review, project controls, and work assignments.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule.
• Prepare documents to obtain quotes from vendors for material, equipment, and other specialty items.
• Track material deliveries.
• Interface with departments, divisions, and internal staff on budgeting, staffing, discipline of employees, training/development, scheduling and other activities requiring discretion and judgment.
• Review engineering plans and vendor submittals.
• Monitor crew assignments to meet productivity goals.
• Conduct field walks and spot checks of work being performed.
• Ensure compliance with county, state and OSHA policies and regulations.

• 2+ years of experience as a similar construction Project Engineer.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.

• Must be able to understand, interpret, and consistently apply safety laws, company policies and standards.
• Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
• Ability to build trust and achieve results with clients and team members.
• Read drawings, interpret work specifications and scopes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong work ethic to complete tasks as a team in a high-quality manner.
