AWS/CES is looking for a Quality Engineer – Toledo, OH
Position Type: Temp to Hire
Shift: Day Shift
Pay Rate: $40/hour
Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to implement, monitor, and improve the quality of operational processes and products. This role will work closely with the local leadership team to ensure processes and products consistently meet established quality standards, with a focus on auditing and driving continuous improvement in the plant’s manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the internal audit function for the quality system and drive continuous improvement
- Manage the documentation change management system
- Participate in cross-functional teams to develop PFMEAs, control plans, and work instructions
- Perform MSA and capability studies of new and existing gauges and equipment
- Address quality rejects, including customer-returned material
- Assist and coach others in the use of statistical techniques
- Assist with process improvements and data analysis
- Conduct process capability studies and quality audits
- Participate in customer visits and reviews
- Other duties as required
Skills &
Qualifications:
- Experience with FMEAs, Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Leadership abilities and capability to work independently
- Proficient in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab)
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
- Knowledge of APQP and program management techniques
Experience Required/Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) with 2-5 years of experience; work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred, automotive industry experience a plus
- Demonstrated competence in quality-related statistics
- Certified Quality Auditor for IATF-16949 preferred or obtained within one year of hire
