Effective October 1, 2025, the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services has transitioned to its new name—the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH). All positions and services now fall under DBH, continuing our commitment to comprehensive, person‑centered behavioral health care across Ohio.
What You’ll Do- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Complete initial diagnostic assessments.
- Coordinate assessments, admissions, and evaluations.
- Teach and develop clients’ individual living skills.
- Provide individual counseling.
- Serve as an active member of the treatment team.
- Document services and submit reimbursement requests.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Coordinate referrals and conduct follow‑ups.
Hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit. Salary range: #10 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Pay increases: 3 % increase on July 1, 2026; longevity supplement after 5 years; step increases based on performance after six months and annually thereafter. Qualifications- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.
- Or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
- Or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
- Or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT) by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse with a practice specialty certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse plus completion of a Master’s degree in Psychology or another mental‑health related field.
- Or Licensed Registered Nurse plus a Master’s degree in Nursing with a concentration in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing.
