Job Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for pharmacy services, including preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, financial transactions, customer service, and maintaining records, under the direction of the Pharmacist.

Essential Functions
  • Receiving and verifying prescriptions
  • Recording patient information in compliance with General Pharmaceutical Council guidelines
  • Providing medication instructions
  • Supporting the Pharmacist in daily operations
  • Adhering to infection‑control protocols
  • Other duties as assigned
Education
  • High School Degree or GED
Licensure/Certification
  • Valid ExCPT Certification from the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and registration with State Board of Pharmacy
Experience
  • Previous experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
Skills & Abilities
  • Proactive in a rapidly changing environment
  • Professional engagement with staff and patients
  • Problem‑solving with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique
