Relief Attendant

RELIEF ATTENDANT

The purpose of the Relief Attendant is to assist with the serving of meals and snacks and cleaning up once members are finished. The role also involves providing participatory educational and recreational services for Boys & Girls Club members, including implementing a weekly program plan that features tournaments, contests, skills classes and displays. The attendant works in a controlled area, guides members in using equipment and educational activities, and offers both individual and group mentoring.

Part‑time hours are either 3:00 pm‑7:00 pm or 3:30 pm‑8:00 pm during the school year, and summer hours are 12:00 am‑5:00 pm at all clubs. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour based on experience.

• Supervise and maintain control of assigned relief area.
• Check at the beginning of each working day for schedule changes.
• Communicate with department instructor regarding job functions at the beginning and end of relief period.
• Assume any routine duties of person being relieved.
• Record member’s card numbers on the number sheet.
• Other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned.

• High School Diploma or greater.
• Must have experience working with youth of all ages in large groups.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Open to change positions when and where needed.
