- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care provided to a group of patients.
- Lead nursing team members in care as directed by the attending physician and in collaboration with other health care providers.
- Foster an environment that supports patient, family, physician, and employee satisfaction.
- Ensure decisions are based on patient- and family-centered care philosophy, evidenced-based practices, safety, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
- Provide nursing care within the full scope of nursing practice as defined by the state Board of Nursing and hospital accreditation requirements.
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill drawn from biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. The RN functions within the full scope of nursing practice as noted by the Board of Nursing of the state in which they practice, in addition to compliance with hospital accrediting bodies.
Required Qualifications- Education: The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during licensure, with at least 1 hour related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
- License: Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification: Current CPR training; specialty certifications as required.
- Education: BSN.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Demonstrates knowledge and use of standard precautions and PPE. Demonstrates knowledge and use of safe patient handling equipment.
- Physical Demands:
Able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to blood-borne pathogens and bodily fluids. Able to meet health requirements identified by the organization (e.g., PPD, respirator training, vaccines). - Able to move about the hospital and between workstations, and able to stand for prolonged periods. Able to frequently move, lift, or carry light to heavy patients or equipment. Able to lift medium materials (non-material handling); continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching; frequent pushing, pulling, and squatting. Occasional sitting, stairs, and kneeling.
