Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 2 years of experience with intermediate medication drips.

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, including familiarity with intermediate medication drips (heparin, nitro, cardizem, insulin, etc)
• Charge nurse experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Observation medicine experience preferred
• Pending licenses not accepted

• Mixed unit PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg within an Observation Unit
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including chest pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, GI bleed, CHF, COPD, seizure, and more
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on all shifts
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within service line and across Toledo, Flower, Bay Park, and Wildwood facilities to units including Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surg, and Uro/Vascular
• EPIC charting system required
• Fast-paced environment with a length of stay goal of 18-24 hours
• Provide care primarily to patients managed under EDOBS providers located within the department
• Work in a Level I trauma center and the largest acute care hospital in the Toledo metropolitan area
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
• No local candidates within 50 miles accepted
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Schedules subject to change with two-week notice provided by facility
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require management approval
