Must-Have: Ability to perform various nursing procedures and work in a correctional environment

Description:

The registered nurse will work the evening shift from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

This position requires frequent stair climbing and descending.

The role involves making rounds, evaluating care needed and rendered, and creating care plans.

The registered nurse will teach healthcare principles and administer medications, including narcotics.

Direct nursing care will be provided as needed.

Specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties will be performed.

The registered nurse will organize and oversee the 'code blue' team.

They will direct healthcare staff assigned to the area and act as the lead worker during assigned shifts in the absence of a higher-level nurse.

Assisting physicians with diagnostic health evaluations is part of the role.

Clerical tasks including charting and recording medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information will be required.

Required reports such as incident and accident reports must be completed.

Medicaid information will need to be documented, and supplies and equipment ordered as needed.

The registered nurse will maintain a constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medications, and equipment.

Outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations will be arranged.

New and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians through local pharmacies will be processed.

Administrative tasks will be performed as needed, serving as a liaison within the organization.

Occasional instructing and participation in problem-solving teams or groups may be required.
