Responsibilities- Observe and report activities and incidents during shifts at the Glass City Center and after‑hours at the Huntington Center; log occurrences.
- Answer incoming customer phone calls and take appropriate action for each call.
- Report hazardous conditions or emergencies to management, follow safety precautions, and log incidents.
- Use company policies to determine whether an issue can be resolved immediately or requires managerial input.
- Input data into the company computer platform to keep each customer record updated.
- Perform frequent sitting, standing, and walking; may involve climbing stairs, walking up inclines, and walking on uneven terrain.
- Work effectively with staff, customers, and visitors under potentially stressful situations; possess exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Represent the facility in communicating building policies regarding safety, security, move‑in/out, and overall facility policies.
- Understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries, and possess effective interpersonal skills.
- Lift up to 10 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
- Keep the Safety and Security Manager informed of day‑to‑day activities.
- Clean, perform minor maintenance, and store operational and security equipment properly.
- Complete FEMA Courses ICS‑100 and ICS‑700 within 30 days of hire date.
- Cover the desk until replacement arrives.

Education and/or
Experience:
Knowledge of command centers, fire alarm panels, surveillance tools, and event security equipment used in event production; skill in handling tools and equipment for a variety of events and shows.
Language
Skills:
Verbal and written communication with the general public, clients, co‑workers, and management; basic computer skills.
Reasoning Ability: Excellent organizational skills; ability to work with management, employees, clients, and the public; ability to work from CAD drawings and event checklists; ability to make quick safety and security decisions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must complete FEMA Courses ICS‑100 and ICS‑700 within 30 days of hire date.
Physical Demands: Lift up to 10 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment: Evening, weekend, and holiday work with short turnaround deadlines; work outdoors and indoors on SMG‑managed property; uniform required.
