ISP Telecommunications Customer Premise Technician - Level IV - Toledo, Ohio

Your ImpactThe Telecom Customer Premise Technician - Level IV is required to perform detailed installation, integration, and testing of customer premises fiber systems and routers with minimum supervision.
Core Responsibilities- Master installation skills and testing per Telco standards, performing all Level IV duties with high competence and accuracy.
- Execute comprehensive equipment installation across a wide variety of fiber system installations; conduct system testing and integration.
- Work with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, etc.
- Apply deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures.
- Read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation.
- Maintain accuracy of all required documentation.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and team members to complete, test, and turn up equipment.
- Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and administrative requirements; review subordinate time and expense documentation.
- Comply with system update requirements of all installation documents.
- Resolve project‑related issues using defined processes.
- Create and maintain MOPs, high‑risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports.
- Perform in‑process and final quality audits to ensure compliance with industry and customer standards.
- Physically place, remove, or modify working and non‑working equipment.
- Install cable trays and/or racking from drawings and engineering documents.
- Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls.
- Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route cables supplying AC/DC power or transmitting data.
- Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software.
- Perform test and turn‑up along with other integration activities.
- Troubleshoot equipment and technical issues as they arise.
- Validate quality of in‑process and completed work.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
- Minimum 5+ years’ installation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Prior leadership experience required;
Verizon installation experience a plus. - High school diploma with two years technical school or equivalent telecommunications field installation training.
- Common‑sense approach to interpreting written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications.
- Full understanding of company and customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills.
- Valid driver’s license; able to pass all pre‑employment background checks and be insurable.
- Travel required within home region using a company vehicle; travel and overnight stays as needed; expenses paid by employer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Compliance with OSHA standards required.
Base Pay Range: $62,000 USD – $72,000 USD
