Safety and Compliance Officer, Prime Air
Join Amazon's Prime Air team to ensure the safe and compliant operation of our drone delivery fleet. This role is a Flight Safety and Compliance Officer (SCO) with a focus on maintaining safety standards, managing flight operations, and fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular evaluations of flight monitors, ground crew, and operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures.
- Monitor all aspects of flight safety at Prime Air delivery sites, including risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Assist in creating and maintaining accurate records for assigned flight crew.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for frontline regulatory partners during inspections and visits.
- Analyze flight data and safety metrics to identify trends and potential risks, and report findings to senior leadership.
- Conduct routine audits of flight operations, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) site safety, and compliance, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Stay informed on and comply with all applicable Flight Safety, WHS, and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with all levels of the organization to promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
This position may require an export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of experience in a safety‑critical role.
- Knowledge of Flight Safety, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), and Flight Operations regulations and procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs.
- Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification within the first 90 days.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of operations.
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

CompensationThe base pay for this position ranges from $62,800 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $138,700 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
