Health & Safety Advisor at Inland Kenworth U.S. located at our sales and service dealership in Tolleson, AZ. This role serves as the primary safety contact for US operations.
The OpportunityThe Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for administering the safety program across the territory and corporately, using independent judgment to revise policies and programs as needed. Key duties include examining unsafe conditions, recommending changes, performing safety inspections, preparing reports, supporting safety committees, providing safety training, and investigating accidents with preventative solutions. The role promotes a positive safety culture by building relationships with branches and encouraging correct safety practices.
YourResponsibilities
- Review, revise, or develop safety policies and procedures; review regulations to ensure compliance and identify deficiencies.
- Participate in incident investigations and identify meaningful corrective actions.
- Contribute to the design and communication of safety bulletins, corrective action notices, and updates to safety management systems.
- Regularly participate in toolbox meetings, joint health and safety committee meetings, and branch inspections.
- Conduct site visits to assigned branches, identify deficiencies, and work with local employees to implement solutions.
- Facilitate annual audits and support branches in correcting deficiencies.
- Use Safety Management Software (SMS) for data collection and analysis to recommend improvements.
- OSH Associate Degree or higher preferred.
- CSP/SMS designation or coursework toward the designation preferred but not required.
- 4-6 years related experience in health and safety.
- Experience in site inspection, investigation, hazard assessment, and policy development.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Able to deliver training to various groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Working knowledge of regulations pertaining to worksites within the territory.
- Knowledgeable in hazard assessment and control.
- Experienced in inspections and investigations.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Valid driver’s license required; passport needed for corporate travel.
