Role PurposeThe IT Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing overall computer networking and server infrastructure within a dynamic and busy solar manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of network protocols, server administration, and cloud technologies, combined with hands‑on experience in automation and troubleshooting. Success in this role requires adaptability, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced production environment to ensure system reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure.
- Implement and manage system upgrades, patches, and backups.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with MES and Sec Ops teams to ensure system integrity and compliance for production line systems and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage incident response and root cause analysis for system outages and performance issues.
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
- Support deployment and integration of new technologies and tools.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for critical systems, including MES, DNS, and related infrastructure.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience).
- 3+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or Dev Ops.
- Proficiency with Windows computer/server environments.
- Previous work/understanding of server virtualization (VMWare/Hyper‑V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Power Shell, Python).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Solar Winds).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Sys Ops Administrator, Microsoft Certified:
Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+. - Experience with Linux Servers.
- Experience with Oracle DB administration.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and service management.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.
- Specific experience with Fortigate Firewall administration is a plus.
- Understanding of server/networking redundancy and disaster recovery mechanisms is a plus.
The range for this position is $63,300.00 – $87,038.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
