Position: CLOSURE PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN

Description

After 40 years of providing Coca-Cola with high quality PET plastic bottles, Western Container is now searching for a Closure Specialist to lead our next venture into compression-molded closures! If you have closure experience and will thrive on the challenge and excitement of starting up a new product line, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

Western Container may not be a household name, but our bottles can be found in nearly every household west of the Mississippi. Our company was founded by a group of Coca-Cola bottlers over 40 years ago and since then we have become the premier manufacturer of plastic beverage bottles for the Coca-Cola bottling industry, supplying over 6 billion bottles and preforms annually.

This great opportunity is available at our location in Tolleson, AZ, a fast-paced operation with state-of-the-art plastics manufacturing equipment, including 13 injection molding presses and 4 blow molding machines. As with all positions at Western Container, this position requires an emphasis on quality and safety. Western Container is a very fast-paced operation, and we pride ourselves on our clean and safe environment.

Requirements
  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment, including molders, folders, slitters, and printers.
  • Ensure equipment is operated within established operating parameters.
  • Perform order changes and complete line clearance functions.
  • Ensure that product is produced according to Quality Control Plans and Quality Standards.
  • Perform Quality inspections and procedures.
  • Perform non-conformance isolations for current work order at the pack-out area.
  • Communicate any machine or quality issues requiring mechanical adjustment or repair.
  • Accurately and completely document activities in SPC charting and Downtime database.
  • Understand and abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Be responsible for achieving safety and quality goals.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, and perform other duties as assigned.
