Base pay range: $15.00/hr - $19.00/hr packer – Nights $3.00 night differential.
Location & ShiftWork location:
Tolleson, AZ. Shift: Night shift.
Visually inspects all products, properly separates and packages finished products being manufactured. Notifies the appropriate team individual when quality, safety or production problems arise that cannot be resolved by an individual.
Responsibilities- Ensures that adequate vital supplies, such as tape, bagging, stamp, labels and cartons, are available to perform duties.
- Constructs cardboard cartons to contain finished products, ensuring that the proper carton is being utilized.
- Visually inspects product for physical foam quality defects through plastic bag. Periodically opens random logs of product to perform close visual inspection.
- Notifies the Production Leader or Production Equipment Operator immediately of any quality defects.
- Inspects lids product prior to bagging. Performs fit, form and function testing every hour on every running lids mold.
- Inspects product for print defects and informs Lead and/or Supervisor of any issues. Maintains appropriate ink level on running printers.
- Packs product into cartons while ensuring that the correct number of bags of product is packed based on item specifications.
- Properly seals the carton and applies proper label(s).
- Moves the packed cartons of finished product to the designed stacking area and then places the stacks of cartons together in the correct configuration in preparation for pick‑up by the forklift operator.
- Sets aside defective product for inspection while ensuring that no defective product is packed for shipment.
- Works at an efficient and safe pace packing up to four production lines while keeping packing bins at or below two‑thirds full.
- Assures a smooth flow of product through the packing process by responding to bagger jams, clearing the product jam and restarting the equipment properly and safely.
- Follows safety procedures when starting, shutting down, un‑jamming or tying the tail on a bagger.
- Adheres to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements and sanitation guidelines. Reports all non‑compliance to Management and maintains a high level of personal hygiene.
- Assists other team members as required, without being asked. Attends meetings as required.
- Maintains housekeeping standards by keeping the work area clean at all times and performs end‑of‑shift cleaning as directed by Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- One year in a manufacturing environment packing finished goods preferred.
- Works in a manufacturing plant with moving mechanical parts.
- Operates in an indoor environment that may be exposed to extreme heat and is not air‑conditioned.
- Work environment contains loud noises and odors that may last for long periods and occasional airborne particles.
- PPE required at all times, including hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- Ability to work an 8+, 10+ or 12+ hour shift as designated.
- Availability to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as designated.
