Science and STEM Summer Camp Assistant Teacher

Join Black Rocket Productions as a Science and STEM Summer Camp Assistant Teacher. This seasonal position lasts 4–10 weeks, beginning in June, and involves working in-room with children aged 6‑14.

Job Description: "We think we're preparing kids for tomorrow. Kids just think it's cool!" We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, and talented individuals to assist in our dynamic Summer STEM programs.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering STEM activities and projects to children in the classroom.
• Engage students in hands‑on experiments, engineering challenges, and baking activities.
• Support lead instructors with lesson preparation and classroom management.
• Facilitate a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

General Requirements:

• Located within driving distance of one of our partner regions with reliable transportation.
• Experience with children in an educational setting preferred, but not required.
• Strong background in science or baking, familiarity with experimentation, the scientific method, engineering concepts, creative thinking, and/or baking.
• Availability to complete online training in May prior to the start of summer (self‑paced via our online portal).
• Authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to offer accommodations or work sponsorship.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 4 weeks, Monday through Friday.
• Must love working with kids!

Assistant Instructor Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.
• College students studying education, culinary arts, biology, chemistry, engineering, or other STEM‑related fields are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with kids in a formal or informal setting is a plus (e.g., babysitting, volunteering, coaching, tutoring).
• Rate: $15–$17 per hour.
