Campus Life Assistants help the Student Life staff by working in the student center box office and in the Helping Hands food pantry. The main goal is to help students, faculty, staff, and guests of Ocean County College have the best experience possible. Campus Life Assistants are expected to assist with all aspects of Student Life campus activities as their schedule permits.
Responsibilities- Greet students, faculty, staff, and other visitors as they arrive in all of our locations.
- Answer box office and pantry phones, field questions, and transfer appropriately.
- Sell all Student Life and student organization tickets and merch by utilizing the system created by Student Life.
- Approve all campus flyers per the OCC Posting Policy and post flyers in the Student Center and other campus locations.
- Maintain Student Life email and voicemail, responding and forwarding inquiries as necessary.
- Be a resource for student organization leaders, directing them to forms and supplies and answering questions or referring to professional staff members.
- Help students locate items when they visit the pantry.
- Utilize Pantry Soft and prepare food ordered by students in advance.
- Assist with Student Life sponsored events. This includes set-up and breakdown of tables and chairs as needed.
- Help create a welcoming and non-judgmental environment in the box office and pantry.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A positive attitude, flexibility to work in busy environments, and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete time-sensitive tasks.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills as well as the potential to develop these skills.
- Desire to work with diverse individuals and promote inclusivity at OCC.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
Must be a registered student at OCC in good academic and behavioral standing.
