Executive Search Manager at Ainsley Search Group | Matching Top Talent with Top companiesWe’re supporting a specialty manufacturer in the Mainland, PA region that is seeking a Plant Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance, facilities, and utilities operations. This highly visible leadership role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on technical troubleshooting. The position is central to ensuring equipment uptime, regulatory compliance, facility reliability, and continuous improvement across the site.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of mechanics, electricians, and contractors, ensuring proper staffing, performance management, and technical development.
- Oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging, filling, compounding, and utility equipment, ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and audit standards.
- Develop and execute a robust preventive maintenance program, tracking KPIs to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
- Manage capital and non-capital projects including new equipment installation, upgrades, and facility improvements; prepare and track Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
- Oversee all site infrastructure and utilities, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, and power distribution.
- Plan and execute plant shutdowns and equipment overhauls, ensuring timely completion and safe execution.
- Maintain site cleanliness, infrastructure integrity, and workplace safety standards in line with internal policies and external regulations.
- Support energy conservation and ESG initiatives, reducing water, waste, and energy usage across the site.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, procurement, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues and align maintenance with production schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of investigations related to equipment performance, audits, and compliance issues.
- Champion Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement, enhance productivity, and reduce maintenance costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and rotating equipment.
- Proven track record of leading technical teams and managing contractors in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in packaging, compounding, or high-volume production environments strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/CMMS systems, AutoCAD, MS Project, and maintenance excellence KPIs.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations, as well as cGMP compliance.
- Demonstrated success in managing capital projects and driving measurable improvements in OEE, downtime reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across departments.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, lift 40 lbs, and travel up to 15% of the time.
