Physician Assistant

Physician Assistant – Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ – Department: CMC Gastroenterology – Full‑time Day Shift, Salary: $120,000–$190,000 per year.

The Physician Assistant is an independent health care provider who coordinates inpatient/outpatient care through collaboration with the Physician. The PA provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners/Physician Assistant Advisory Committee.

• Physician Assistant Certification
• Registration & Licensure by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners / Physician Assistant Advisory Committee
• Basic Life Support
• Advanced Life Support
• CDS and DEA

• Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages is a plus.

• 4 x 10s (7:00 a‑m – 5:00 p‑m)
• Monday – Sunday

• Assist physicians with procedures/surgeries and coordinate patient cases.
• Organize and achieve quality performance in routine duties.
• Coordinate aspects of patient care within a women's health environment.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and effective communication.
• Organize daily schedule and demonstrate time management.
• Prioritize work assignments and communicate effectively.
• Implement the practice’s policies and procedures.
• Perform assessment and reassessment of patients according to department standards and tools.
• Manage time to meet laboratory needs.
• Schedule and prioritize procedures to minimize delays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the physician.
• Initiate and educate about improvements in policies or patient care.
• Communicate regularly with nursing leadership and staff about patient care issues.
• Explain procedures to patients prior to testing.
• Provide appropriate patient teaching as necessary.
