Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for Community Medical Center.

Community Medical Center is a 592‑bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering world‑class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care.

Opened in 1961, CMC has evolved into the state’s newest teaching hospital with four residency programs and Ocean County’s largest and most active health care facility, caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients and 73,700 emergency department patients each year.

Qualifications
  • Certified nursing assistant required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • BLS required (American Heart Association).
Preferred
  • Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program preferred.
Scheduling Requirements
  • Evening shift, 24 hours per week.
Essential Functions
  • Direct patient caregiver assisting with activities of daily living and providing nursing care.
  • Accurately obtain vital signs, weights, and document on appropriate tools.
  • Assist and prepare patients for procedures/surgery and post‑procedure/surgery as directed by RN.
  • Provide patient care based on physical, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned service.
  • Ensure effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment, and critical actions.
  • Continue communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient care.
  • Participate in collaboration of patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning.
