RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the Adult Psych department at the Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center. The Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center (shared with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Behavioral Health Services) is a freestanding 100‑bed acute care psychiatric facility providing inpatient and intensive outpatient programs for adults and older adults diagnosed with psychiatric and dual disorders.

Our Registered Nurses assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for the State of New Jersey and the policies and procedures of the Barnabas Health Behavioral Health Center. All methods of practice conform to written hospital policies and procedures and are carried out to the highest achievable level of competence, demonstrating concern and consideration.

The RN demonstrates Barnabas Health’s philosophy of Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

• BLS certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

• BSN or completion within 5 years upon hire
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient setting
  
  One (1) year experience in a psychiatric/chemical dependency field

• Per Diem

• The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring awareness of ethical standards per the ANA code of ethics.
• The RN ensures safety in practice, incorporates evidence‑based practice, and maintains knowledge of one’s own level of expertise, advancing knowledge through communication with and utilization of resource persons and programs.
• The RN reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
• The RN is knowledgeable about the patient population served.
• The RN supervises and delegates tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient‑care providers.
• The RN consistently sets and evaluates priorities through interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
• The RN operates as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize care plans.
