All about General Merchandise:
Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

The role of a General Merchandise Expert can provide you with the following: knowledge of guest service fundamentals, experience with retail business fundamentals (department sales trends, inventory replenishment, process improvement), and experience executing daily/weekly workloads to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Assist guests in solving their needs in a welcoming manner.
• Thank guests for shopping at Target.
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, arrange merchandise, and put up promotional signs for GM areas as directed by leadership.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Change prices, perform merchandise setup and maintenance, and maintain inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn operational procedures related to setting up and organizing merchandise, stock management, and sales floor maintenance.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to assist guests and enhance their experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (picking/packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
• Other duties as needed by business requirements.

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift/move merchandise up to 44 pounds with or without assistance.
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions for certain duties (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.).
