The Opportunity
Pace Recruitment is working with an established and growing main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Kent and the South East.
The business is entering an exciting period of expansion and is looking to strengthen its Design Management team with an experienced Design Manager.
This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor where collaboration, innovation and high standards are central to the way projects are delivered.
The Role
As Design Manager, you'll take responsibility for coordinating and managing the design process throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
You'll play a key role in ensuring design information is properly coordinated, risks are identified early and projects progress efficiently from pre-construction through to completion.
The role will involve managing design programmes, reviewing technical information, coordinating design meetings and ensuring consultants and supply-chain partners deliver information in line with project requirements.
You'll work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, providing technical and design leadership while helping to resolve issues and maintain programme, quality and commercial objectives.
Projects can be up to around £25m in value, so this is an opportunity to work on a varied and challenging portfolio rather than repetitive schemes.
About You
We're looking for a Design Manager with previous experience working for a main contractor and a strong understanding of the construction design process.
You should have experience managing the design delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion and be comfortable coordinating multiple stakeholders.
Experience working on projects up to £25m would be advantageous, together with strong knowledge of construction methods, technical design and building regulations.
You'll need excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and confidently challenge design issues when required.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes a collaborative and proactive approach and wants to develop their career within a growing business.
What's on Offer
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and comprehensive package, including:
* Car allowance
* Company pension
* Employee ownership opportunities
* Professional development and training
* Genuine career progression
* Supportive and collaborative working environment
* Opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the region
Why Apply?
This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager looking to join a business with ambitious growth plans and a strong focus on its people.
You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of significant projects, work alongside an experienced delivery team and develop your career within a contractor that genuinely values its employees.
