Overview
Are you passionate about technical theatre and ready to inspire the next generation of creative professionals? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Instructor in Production Arts to join our team at the MAC Theatre, supporting the technical theatre elements of both our Acting for Camera and Music courses at our Tonbridge campus. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the technical theatre operations of a busy performance venue.
You will support all theatre and music productions, both internal and external ensuring high production standards while mentoring and guiding learners throughout the creative process.
- Working closely with Level 2 and Level 3 students, you will:
- Support and oversee technical theatre operations within the MAC Theatre
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality theatre and music productions
- Teach a range of technical theatre skills (e.g. lighting, sound, staging, production support)
- Plan, deliver and assess training for small learner groups
- Provide hands‑on technical support and supervision during live productions
- Where you'll work:
The role is based at the Tonbridge campus, but the nature of the work may require travel to any of the College sites as required.
- You will bring:
- Strong experience in technical theatre and live production environments
- A passion for education and developing emerging talent
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, practical training sessions
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach
- 33 days' annual leave (including Christmas/New Year break) plus bank holidays (full time equivalent).
