The successful candidate will be expected to teach across a range of subjects within the Design and Technology curriculum, including Food Technology, Design & Technology and Art.

About the role

We are a specialist provider of education and care for children and young people with special educational needs. Hilden Park School serves up to 72 children aged 8 to 16 and focuses on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s and Speech, Language and Communication needs. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of a brand new, state-of-the-art setting in Tonbridge and across the wider community.

Responsibilities
  • Teach across Design and Technology subjects as required, including Food Technology, Design & Technology and Art.
  • Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs to learn, develop abilities and raise self-esteem.
  • Demonstrate resilience and dedication; celebrate progress and positive change in pupils.
  • Collaborate with in-house psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals to support pupil development.
  • Contribute to a well-resourced school environment and participate in building a rewarding teaching career within the group.

Requirements
  • Previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ability to relate subject content to pupils and build strong relationships within the class.
  • Enthusiasm and expertise to contribute to department development.
