Waste Management Operatives

Location:

Rotherham Council, Hellaby Depot, Sandbeck Way, Hellaby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, S66 8QL
Pay Rate: £13.58 per hour (PAYE)

Working Hours:

Up to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (additional Saturday working may be available) Temporary

Contract:

Full Time, for the next (2 - 3 Months) Rotherham Council are looking for six Waste Management Operatives to support essential environmental and waste management services across the borough. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a team delivering vital public services. Day-to-day of the role:
Collect waste and recycling from domestic and commercial properties Empty litter bins and assist with litter clearance activities Report environmental issues such as fly-tipping, potholes, and other defects Assist with the safe operation of vehicles and container delivery services Support street cleansing activities across the borough Work as part of a team delivering environmental cleansing, horticultural, and grounds maintenance services Undertake duties across other service areas, including waste and highways, when required to meet operational needs Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Experience of manual outdoor work in all weather conditions A strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively as part of a team Good reliability and attendance Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety requirements

Experience of working to operational targets and service standards Knowledge or experience of environmental cleansing, horticultural, grounds maintenance, or similar practical services Experience using powered tools, plant, or equipment (desirable) Understanding of environmental issues and maintaining clean public spaces Basic literacy and numeracy skills Benefits:
