Collections / Street Cleansing Supervisor

Salary – £42,122.54 per annum
Hours – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location – Tunbridge Wells

As a Collections / Street Cleansing Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our street cleansing, refuse and recycling collection services. You will ensure health and safety procedures are followed, environmental impact is minimised, and high service standards are delivered. You’ll play a key role in supporting and developing your team and maintaining operational efficiency across the Tunbridge Wells depot.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

- Supervising staff across street cleansing, refuse and recycling services
- Leading on health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and site inspections
- Coordinating daily operations through the CMS system (staff, vehicles and holidays)
- Delivering toolbox talks, team briefings and supporting workforce training
- Monitoring vehicle checks, uniform and equipment distribution
- Planning cover for events and managing vehicle wash schedules
- Managing absence, disciplinary matters and contractor activity
- Liaising with clients through site visits and inspections
- Supporting accident investigations and ensuring SHEQ standards are maintained

What are we looking for?

- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within waste, logistics or a similar environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office, CMS and Safeguard systems
- A safety-conscious approach with strong attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (essential); HGV/CPC desirable
- Flexible, professional and proactive approach
- Knowledge of transport legislation and local geography is beneficial
