Production Operative
About the Role
We are looking for motivated and reliable Production Operatives to join our Manufacturing team at our East Peckham site.
Working as part of a busy production team, you will support the manufacturing process to produce high-quality wallcovering products safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail, teamwork and a positive attitude are essential.
This role operates on a rotating two-week shift pattern.
Shift PatternWeek 1
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00am - 2:00pm
Week 2
- Monday to Thursday
- 2:00pm - 10:00pm
As a Production Operative, you will:
- Assist in the manufacture of high-quality wallcovering products.
- Support production processes including PVC mixing, coating, printing and embossing.
- Load and set print or embossing cylinders.
- Clean production equipment between manufacturing runs.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Pack products ready for dispatch.
- Minimise waste while maintaining production efficiency.
- Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the production area.
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets and customer deadlines.
- Good standard of secondary education.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good colour vision.
- A strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Safety‑conscious approach to work.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling tasks.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Self‑motivation with a positive attitude.
- Able to work under pressure and meet production targets.
- GCSE English and Maths.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Full training programme (typically 1-6 months).
- Company-provided uniform, workwear and safety boots.
- 25 days annual leave per holiday year (January to December).
- Planned annual shutdowns:
- End of May - 4 mandatory holiday days.
- August - 2-week factory shutdown.
- Christmas - 4 mandatory holiday days.
- Following the mandatory shutdowns, employees have 7 days annual leave remaining to book at times of their choice.
- Company pension scheme following the qualifying period:
- Employee contribution: 5%
- Employer contribution: 3%
- Company sick pay after six months' service.
