About the Role
Join our team as a Train Driver at Balfour Beatty – Tonbridge Depot. Role within the Multi-Purpose Vehicle & Module Operation (MPVMO) unit, delivering essential shifts for Network Rail.

Responsibilities- Safe driving and control of a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).
- Deliver relevant equipment to Network Rail infrastructure.
- Report directly to MPV Operations Manager.
- Work in accordance with safety and standard procedures.
- Conduct all pre‑start and disposal safety checks using appropriate checklists.
- Carry out minor maintenance and repairs.
- Report all service faults and failures immediately, in writing and verbally.
- Liaise with 24/7 control regarding delivery issues.
- Make a positive contribution to a small dedicated team working on high‑profile contracts.
- Qualified Train Driver with a good safety record, holding route knowledge on the infrastructure.
- Current clean UK driving licence.
- Understanding of core asset modules.
- Adequate customer relation skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Complete and up‑to‑date route knowledge of the infrastructure.
- Good awareness of railway health and safety requirements.
- Qualified Train Driver with previous yellow plant experience.
- Computer literate.
- Smart working, flexible start/finish times, up to 40% remote where roles allow.
- 25 days paid annual leave (pro‑rated).
