We are recruiting Student Support Assistants to work within a welcoming secondary school in CF40, supporting pupils aged 11-16 with behavioural and additional support needs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy building positive relationships, promoting positive behaviour, and helping young people succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As a Student Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting students throughout the school day. Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional needs.
Building positive, professional relationships with students.
Assisting teachers within lessons as a Teaching Assistant.
Providing general classroom cover when required.
Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.
Supporting students with social and life skills.
Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Who We're Looking For

Previous school experience is not essential. We are looking for confident, resilient and approachable individuals who can build rapport with teenagers and manage behaviour positively.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent).
Confident communicating with young people aged 11-16.
Positive, patient and resilient approach.
Able to build professional relationships and manage behaviour effectively.
Willing to complete a strict vetting and safeguarding process before starting work.
