Job Description 3 months contract with local authorityThis role is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing the wellbeing of vulnerable children, young people, and adults through exemplary social work practices. The position involves conducting assessments, interventions, care planning, and reviews to ensure high-quality service delivery. The role is integral to the Community & Children's Services group, operating within both Adult and Children's Services divisions, and requires collaboration with various organizations to deliver comprehensive support.
Responsibilities- Engage in effective partnership working with statutory and voluntary organizations to deliver services.
- Collaborate with children, young people, adults, their carers, and significant others in assessments and planning.
- Prepare written records, reports, and assessments in accordance with service policies.
- Ensure the voices of children and young people are heard in all processes.
- Recognize and respect the decision-making capacity of adults regarding their wellbeing.
- Conduct mental capacity assessments as required, adhering to the MCA Code of Practice.
- Uphold the highest professional standards and the Social Care Wales Code of Professional Practice.
- Meet the standards of the Service Quality Assurance framework.
- Stay informed on legislation, research, and practice knowledge through ongoing training.
- Respect and value the diversity and expertise of individuals and communities, enabling informed decision-making.
- Challenge decisions when wellbeing outcomes are not being met.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of organizations.
- Strong written communication skills for report and record preparation.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to professional standards.
- Respect for diversity and the ability to empower individuals and communities.
- Competence in conducting mental capacity assessments and understanding of relevant legislation.
