Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker

37 hours per week – Enquiry Assessment Team (East Team).

Grade 11 (£42,839) – Entry Social Worker grade, registration with Social Care Wales.
Grade 12 (£46,142) – Experienced; minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales.

All Social Workers in these teams are eligible to receive a £2,250 market supplement, reviewed May 2027, paid pro‑rata monthly.

The Enquiry and Assessment Team accepts case responsibility from strategy discussions under s47 enquiries up until the Initial Child Protection Conference. Cases may transfer via the IAA Team recommendations or from a proportionate assessment. You will work in partnership with families and their support networks to reduce and manage risk, provide medium‑term interventions, co‑produce care plans and support families through transition to the care and support team.

Regular supervision, peer mentoring and reflective sessions are available. You will manage a defined caseload and maintain links with partner agencies.

Professional, recognised Social Work qualification. Must be registered and maintain registration as a ‘Social Worker’ with Social Care Wales cessful candidates will have a sound understanding of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act and related legislation, be up to date with emerging issues, and possess strong assessment, communication and planning skills. Experience of, or interest in, relevant discipline and a commitment to anti‑oppressive practice are essential.

Applicants for an Experienced Social Worker post must provide evidence of three years post‑qualifying experience and registration.

Those shortlisted will be requested to confirm whether they are applying for a Social Worker (GR11) or Experienced Social Worker (GR12) before interview.
