Our pharmacy technician positions have undergone an exciting transformation, moving from a transaction‑based environment to a much more patient‑centric one. As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you’ll be front and center – interacting with customers and developing strong patient relationships. Walgreens invests in pharmacy training recognized by ASHP & the Department of Labor. This apprenticeship program provides a path to PTCB certification and career advancement.

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Model a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Assist with cash register operations and OTC aisle product location.
• Handle telephone calls and process manual claims for third‑party programs.
• Assist with inventory management and pharmacy department maintenance.
• Support clinical services as needed.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting and offering assistance.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

• Review and comply with Walgreens Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Enter accurate patient and drug information and fill prescriptions.
• Maintain prescription accuracy, report errors immediately.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies.
• Operate cash register and manage sales transactions.
• Assist with inventory, storage, and asset protection.
• Assist in clinical service coordination with Walgreens healthcare clinics.
• Maintain clean, neat pharmacy department and supply storage.
• Support team relationships and complete special assignments.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through Walgreens training.
• Attend manager‑approved training and gain continuing education credits.
• Keep up‑to‑date with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior experience with Walgreens.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
