PURPOSE:The Food Pantry Manager oversees the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of food pantry volunteers, restocking food pantry items, quality control, and coordination of food delivery program with the Utah Food Bank.
* The safety of our employees is a primary concern of Switchpoint. Employees are expected to follow OSHA proper lifting techniques and safe‑lifting ergonomics while on the job.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains food pantry inventory by placing orders through the Executive Assistant for the Utah Food Bank and the CSFP program
- Trains, schedules, and provides daily supervision of food pantry volunteers
- Facilitates food delivery program (CSFP) for seniors
- Assures that units of service are recorded in client attendance database
- Ensure compliance with Utah Food Bank, USDA and other applicable agency policies, procedures and requirements at all times, including maintaining high food safety standards
- Accepts food donations and records all ingoing and outgoing inventory
- Ensures that USDA product is accounted for and stocked appropriately
- Responsible for implementing food pantry policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
- Minimum requirement is a Bahelor’s degree or equivalent. Additional two years of non‑profit work experience is preferred.
- Previous food pantry experience or related experience is preferred
- Motivated self‑started with a proven ability to work well with details and program delivery both individually and as a team player and leader
- Strong problem‑solving and interpersonal communication abilities
- Excellent written, verbal, computer and documentation skills
- Proven organizational and follow‑up skills
- Comfortable working with diverse clients, volunteers, staff and other service providers
- Ability to handle a range of client and volunteer situations calmly, professionally and respectfully
- Ability to effectively and appropriately represent the agency to the public
- Must have the ability to apply common sense in carrying out instructions.
- Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and database software
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit as required by Utah state agencies
- Lifting, carrying, unloading and moving food products of up to 50 lbs
- Review and Follow:
* OSHA Guidelines for Safe Lifting
- Report critical incident(s) immediately to Regional Director.
- Collects data necessary to meet funding requirements and statistical reports.
Wage range start at $18 and cap at $24/hour
