Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.
Responsibilities- Bag groceries at checkout for customers, ensuring at least five items per bag and that contents are not damaged.
- Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
- Assist customers with removing merchandise from the bottom of their baskets during checkout.
- Offer help loading bags into customers' cars.
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and return merchandise to store shelves.
- Inform customers of grocery specials.
- Gather baskets and return them to designated areas.
- Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot.
- Clean all indoor and outdoor store areas.
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
- Understand store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.
- Adhere to all food‑safety regulations and guidelines.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any needed repairs.
- Create an environment that welcomes customers, answers questions, and makes them feel important and appreciated.
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Customer service skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
