Full Time Instructor, School of Nursing - MSN Required
Join the team as a Full Time Instructor in the School of Nursing at Rasmussen University. This role is ideal for Master’s or Doctorate prepared nurses who are passionate about helping students succeed and thrive in a fast‑paced, growing program.
Location:
Topeka, KS.
- Teach courses across multiple modalities, promoting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University.
- Teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter, constituting a full‑time schedule.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies and multiple techniques, modeling appropriate learning skills and creating a conducive learning environment.
- Enhance student engagement through activities, community building, and student‑centered learning, including synchronous classroom tools.
- Clarify, relevance and connection of class session objectives to course performance.
- Maintain an organized classroom and efficient use of class time.
- Demonstrate mastery and articulate knowledge to students.
- Play a role in curriculum development and assessment for the area of expertise.
- Collaborate with the Dean to create a supportive classroom presence.
- Provide student support and outreach, including synchronous/asynchronous communication to help students achieve learning objectives.
- Attend events, program meetings and committee work as agreed upon or designated by the Dean.
The Instructor reports to the Nursing Administrator and, depending on location, to an Area Dean or Dean of Nursing.
Academic and Clinical Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required). A Doctorate is also acceptable.
- Active RN license with no encumbrances.
- Active CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- At least 1 year of clinical RN experience (2+ years preferred).
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Self‑motivated, flexible, and able to work independently within a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.
- Proof of professional licenses/certifications, transcripts, and faculty immunization documentation.
