The City of Topeka’s Utilities and Information Technology departments are seeking an experienced professional to join the City's team as its SCADA Manager. This position works directly with the Utilities department by providing oversight of the design, development and maintenance of control systems necessary for executing the treatment plants, distribution and collection processes of the department.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee installation, programming, maintenance and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers and associated components.
  • Manage installation and programming of SCADA software. This primarily consists of Aveva SCADA software.
  • Work with the IT department for cyber security monitoring and protection.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance and programming of wired copper, fiber and wireless networking.
  • Maintain databases and provide reports and access to data.
  • Provide new replacement instrumentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer, science, computer information systems, or other closely related field from an accredited college or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in water or wastewater control systems preferred.
  • Two years of utility management and two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and must be insurable within the standards set by the City of Topeka's insurance carrier.
  • Certifications to be completed within one (1) year of hire date:
    Microsoft administer certification network, network plus certification, and certification of completion of AVEVA system platform and historian training.
  • Certifications to be completed within two (2) years of hire date: essay NS space ICS
    410 control system security with GIAC global industrial cyber security professional (GICSP) certification.
